An example of a full system name for a computer desktop is: Dell Dimension 8200. In this example, Dell is the system manufacturer, Dimension is the product family, and 8200 is the model number.
There are a few ways to find your system's full name.
(Why do I need to know the full name? Knowing the full name will ensure that the memory you buy is 100% compatibile with your system.)
1. Look on your system
2. If your system is a computer then you can look in your system files
3. If your system is a computer then you can download software
Many systems will show their name on a special label on the front or back.
If you're having trouble finding it or the name is not there, try the next method.
1. Click on the Start Icon.

2. Click on Control Panel.

3. Double-click on System. You may first need to select "Classic View" on the left side.

4. Select the General Tab. Look for "Manufactured and supported by:".

If the system name is not there then try the next method.
1. Click the Apple on the menu bar and select "About this Mac" (This shows basic processor and memory information.)

2. Click "More Info" and a new menu will open.
3. Select the "Hardware" category from the left hand menu, and it will show you the model name and processor speed.

4. Select the "Memory" category from the left hand menu, and it will show you the memory that you currently have installed.
